Piles (hemorrhoids) and Stress Management.

Piles (hemorrhoids) and Stress Management.

Information on piles (Hemorrhoids ) is available aplenty on the internet so I am not repeating it in detail.

Medical definition of piles is like this,

“The major causes of piles are those which lead to straining of the anal canal these include:

  • Irregular bowel habits (constipation or diarrhea),
  • Sedentary lifestyle
  • Nutrition (low-fiber diet),
  • Increased intra-abdominal pressure (prolonged straining),
  • Pregnancy: Due to pressure of the uterus usually this condition resolves after delivery
  • Genetics
  • Obesityand sitting for long periods of time.”

The holistic method of analysis and healing is different. It is just not limited to the disease but also evaluate the complete lifestyle.  Let’s look at pile as a symptom of Stress, and the probable reasons may be beyond what we looked above.

What about the negative thoughts those are created by mind and absorbed into your body? No, we do not  think about it because our mind is already so much chattering that we are unable to notice our wasteful and poisonous thoughts.

It is interesting to study whether our thoughts that lead to stress would further lead to piles? No doubt  that our food habits and lifestyle also contribute a lot. But how come all these  factors did not bother so long are troubling now?

Reasons for stress that lead to Piles (other than quoted above):

  1. Past bad reminiscences held tightly: People many times are not ready to forget past bitter incidences,  that include people, place,  anger, fear etc. They hold the old reminiscences close to their heart and keep feeling sad or depressed. This has an effect on body.
  2. Feeling burdened:  unfavorable work conditions, boss, job, relatives keep your muscles tense.
  3. Fear of deadlines: this a common factor in today’s scenario, be a person in the department of sales, accounts, legal or customer service , everyone has targets and deadlines.  Fear of time-bound activities have bad effects on muscles and digestion system.

How to treat your body & mind:

Piles is only the representation of what is going on in your mind and you are not aware of it. How can you be aware of it? Simple…..

Controlling BODY: have you noticed  changes in your muscles (esp. tightness  in abdominal and downwards) when you  come across any irritating situation? Noticed how the emotional disturbances (irritation, anger, pain)  affect your daily habits? No? Then you must  develop the art of watching your own thoughts and its effects on body and  then the next part is easy.

Controlling MIND: Awareness &  Meditation is one way to calm down anxiety and initiate relaxation. Releasing positive affirmation and Yoga are other ways.  Our method is developed on YMEI (Combination of Yoga, Meditation, Emotion management).

Warning: to have confidence on your own healing power takes a time. Meanwhile and may be even after that, you cannot bypass the modern allopathic medicines and surgery recommended by a qualified doctor.

The problem of back pain is more common in men than women. Do you agree?

Back pain of Sunny Deol (Indian film hero with muscles)

Back is considered to be the support system of life. How one stands and his posture represents how much his/ her life has influenced upon him. There are many who have digested the brutal attacks of life and still walk straight. There are some who have dropped shoulders in just one small adversity in life.

Problems with back usually mean we feel we are not being supported. Too often, we think we are only supported by our job or by family or spouses. In reality, we are totally supported by the Universe, by life itself.

Do you have any of the backpains? Can you check your emotions, thought processes, now? If you have chronic back pain, can you recall your old thoughts? Swallowing pain killers and rubbing ointments can help you only give temporarily relief. Yoga can also help you to some extent. But if you know why this started to you, it will perhaps heal you forever. (Do you want to learn this process?)

The upper back has to do with the feelings ‘the lack of emotional support’; doing donkey work, or the work “I am not supposed to do this job but forced to do”. Neck pain is also associated with upper back with some minor variation in emotions.

The middle back has to do with guilt. All that stuff that is in the back of us. Are you afraid to see what is back there or you hiding what is back there?

Lower back often has to do with money or financial support. Well, it’s a disempowering thought. You may have millions in your bank but the excessive worries at that time may trigger lower back pain. There are other contributing reasons like sitting habits, No or improper exercise. overweight etc. The well lubricating machinery of back then starts creating small problems.

My experience: I have seen a karate champion, a body builder, many intelligent persons having lower back pain developed at various ages. Even a person was once hit by vehicle from his back and he had lower back injury. He was not willing to pay the statutory dues in time and feeling angry for no reason.

The problem of back pain is more common to men than women. Do you agree?

How is this related to Samkhara?

Our thinking patterns,  and beliefs accumulate and harden in our head over the age. As we grow old we lose our flexibility ( mental and physical both) & the hardening of muscles and ligaments starts. The greater the negative feelings the greater the negative impact on health. How to excavate what went wrong?

Now coming to our topic of actor Sunny  Deol’s back pain. He is a muscle man and still has a back pain that only he knows (representing mental pain hidden in subconscious mind since childhood ?). Every one of us is Sunny Deol in life, always wondering, “why I have this back pain?” . The reasons are already stated in this article.

Self help:

  1. Sanskrit has 2 similar words, ‘Chita’ and ‘Chinta’. The former burns the dead body and the latter ‘live body’ means  your worries &  anxiety.
  2. So, start meditating , use emotional intelligence and yoga to heal from back pain.

Samkhara series:- Krishna’s death in the hands of an animal hunter

Samkhara series:Krishna’s death in the hands of an animal hunter

After the Mahabharat episode, Krishna understands that  his time to leave this world has  come, and he leaves for vanprasthashram ( time to retire into the jungles so that the remaining part of life can be spent with flora & fauna ,  meditation  etc and finally the body to be offered as a food to wild animals).

In the jungle, Krishna was sitting under a tree and his blue toe was perceived as a dove by a nearby hunter. As his arrow hits Krihna, he cries in pain. The hunter understands his mistakes of hitting arrow to a human. Later when he comes to know that he has hit Lord Krishna he starts begging for his life.

Then Krishna consoles him, “O Hunter, it is not your fault, but  the debt of karma has been nullified now. You were king Waali and I was Ram in previous life and I killed you with my arrow  ambushing behind the rock. I took rebirth as Krishna and completed my work and you took rebirth as a hunter based  on the work you performed in your previous births. I needed a reason to leave this body, and now you have hit me with your arrow and that nullified the debt.”

Is it so? How many enemies did Ram kill in the various battles? May be 100s , or 10000s or more ? But why only  Waali’s death remained in his heart? May be he felt ashamed of killing him while he was fighting with Sugreev and that too from behind the rock. May be this strong Samkhara remained deep inside in his mind that had to be anyway nullified in the next birth.

4.Yudhisthir’s Yagna and half gold Mongoose that could not be converted into full

Yudhisthir’s Yagna and half gold Mongoose that could not be converted into full.

Yudhisthir and his 4 brothers, the Pandvas  with the help of Krishna built the new palace in Khandav van, after they were denied place the ancestor’s palace.  After the new palace was built they arranged for a housewarming session.

After the pooja, and Yajna was performed , guests & Rishis ate and left the palace blessing the hosts. Pandvas were resting with the satisfaction of the completion of a great job. The golden and silver plates on which the food was served to the people were still lying on the ground unattended. All of a sudden, a mongoose came in. It was half gold – half normal. It rolled in the leftover food in many plates and waited for a while. It watched its body and again tossed itself in some of the plates.

Confused Yudhisthir asked the mongoose the reason for tossing itself in the garbage. The mongoose told its story.

“Few hours back, a poor Brahmin attended this fest. He and his family had been hungry for many days. He came here and carried this food to his house to share with family instead of eating here. As soon as the lady of the house spread the banana leaves and served the food over it, an unknown hungry guest appeared at the door. He begged for the food and the Brahmin offered his share to him. The beggar wanted more so wife gave him her share, unsatisfied beggar wanted more so the son offered him his share. The beggar finally got satisfied and left. This Brahmin family died later by the hunger. I was also feeling hungry and as soon as I realized that there is no one now to hush me away, I went and ate whatever was leftover  on the banana leaves. In the process, wherever these food particles touched my body, it turned into gold. Unfortunately, the food particles were not enough.

Then I came to know from where he brought the food, from you, O King. And so I came here  and was waiting in the corner to finish the royal program so that now I can have enough plates and garbage to roll over and convert my remaining body into gold. But I am surprised that though the food is same, I am not yet fully converted into gold. Why?”

Krishna intervened, “dear creature, it was not the food, that converted your body into half gold, it’s the satisfaction of the dying family that gave the  food to a completely stranger, even though they knew that they would die because of hunger.”

Krishna then turned to Yudhishthir and said, “dear brother,  you have now grandiose feelings about the whole feast, don’t’ you. But, do you have those same serene feelings of the Brahmin who donated his food and died? His whole family participated in the program, what about you and your brothers? “

Yudhisthir understood the false feelings he was carrying about the Royal and Grandiose feast versus the serene  one.

How many times we think that we are doing something BIG, GRANDIOSE things for people, but we are unaware that there are a few who keep doing many serene things in silence.

Help yourself:

Pl. make a list of grandiose things that you think you did during last year. What are your emotions about them? Intensely satisfied? Great? Good? Serene?
