What is Stress?

It is a response of human mind to the changed environment. The change in environment can be social, economical, organizational, geographical and so on….if a person is not fully equipped to handle the change, stress appears. Some endure it, some fall sick, some develop tendency of repeated sickness,   some tie a lifetime wedlock to various diseases. Stress is a silent killer.

Very few agree that they have stress. Others hide their symptoms behind ignorance or ego. But stress does not leave anybody. It shows its presence in your body. We often say that we are rock solid and stress can not touch us  but we also fall sick like all of our colleagues. We need to take care of stress before it becomes unmanageable.

If you have any of these symptoms, then you are likely under stress.

  • Short temper, quick anger
  • Back Pain:  (upper, lower or middle)
  • Joint pains
  • Migraine
  • Untimely baldness or graying of hair
  • Skin allergies
  • Hypertension
  • High cholesterol
  • Some breathing problems,
  • Twitching of eyes or eyebrows or unwarranted routine facial expressions
  • Excess need of smoking
  • Always rushing from one place to another to complete tasks in hand.
  • Loss of sound sleep

STRESS MANAGEMENT & RELAXATION RESPONSE

Generally once you go through a particular stress type, it is likely that same symptom may resurface in a similar stress situation in future. You do not invite stress but certain emotions, old memories, lifestyle, habits and environment affect you at that time. And once susceptible to stress, you lose yourself  and go under stress easily and frequently. We accept  stress and all the dis-eases that stress brings with as  a part of life .  Then we bombard our body with the medicines as a quick fix solution. Because we do not know ourselves, and our mind and body are not aligned. YMEI (Yoga, Mindfulness and Emotional Intelligence)  is the best way where you can know yourself  and mind-body coordination. You can relax and  manage your stress.  How stress develops in body is an interesting thing and when you know that, neither stress nor diseases can scare you. But it needs consistence practice and patience to develop yourself.
